A Few words from some of our happy clients:

  • Larry Ford | Salida, CO

I have been fortunate to experience many wilderness locations. My trip to the rivers of northern Brazil, hosted by Mike Merritt was both a surprise and an education. Living on the river, in a region that has both wildlife and beauty was what I expected but was also the opportunity to go back in time to see the life of the local indigenous people. By the end of the trip, I began to understand how civilization survived when it lived off of the land with no external support. The world they live in is hostile and dangerous but they have learned the lessons of their ancestors- they adapt. This is much more than an Eco tour.

Went with 5 buddies to Brazil ( Amazon Prime Eco-lodge) the end of September of 2023.   Wonderful adventure from start to finish. The locally sourced/fresh cooked meals were perfectly prepared and arranged. The wildlife around the lodge was breathtaking and plentiful. We enjoyed a locally guided jungle tour and learned tons from the guides. The accommodations were quaint and cozy. As a bonus from Captain Mike on our final day he arranged a tour of Manaus. We toured and enjoyed the local culture and culminated the experience with a “River Tour”. I was able to personally view the headwater of the Amazon River!! How many people can say that? Thanks again Captain Mike for a once in a lifetime experience.

  • A man with a white beard and mustache holding a peacock bass by its mouth on a boat near the water, with green trees in the background, wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt, a camouflage cap, and sunglasses on his head.

It’s an amazing experience. Never was a Bird guy but at Amazon Prime Eco Lodge you turn into one. Just the overall variety of species of birds is amazing. The Sounds of the Howler Monkeys, the Caimans, all the way to the Toucans these are the things you read about but with the eco tour you get to experience live

  • A man holding a sloth on a boat by a lake, surrounded by green foliage and trees in the background.

Danny Sapp | Live Oak, FL

What an amazing adventure! This was such a unique experience; it's a whole new world! We observed the simple life of the families who live along the River, and made some new friends. We saw beautiful birds, wild sloths, were visited by curious monkeys while fishing for piranha. We had a close encounter with a caiman! We enjoyed the endless varieties of fruit, vegetables, and fresh caught fish. This tropical paradise was breathtaking and immense! Something I hope to experience again soon.

My recent fishing trip with Captain Mike Merritt in the Amazon was nothing short of extraordinary. Targeting the magnificent peacock bass, I was blown away by both the experience and the professionalism of Captain Mike and his team. From the moment we set off, their deep knowledge of the area and expert guidance were evident, ensuring we were always in the best spots to catch these vibrant and powerful fish. The equipment provided was top-notch, and safety was a clear priority, allowing us to focus on the thrill of fishing. Captain Mike’s enthusiasm and passion for fishing were contagious, making the entire trip not only educational but incredibly fun. If you’re looking for an unforgettable fishing adventure, I highly recommend booking a trip with Captain Mike Merritt. The combination of stunning scenery, exceptional service, and the chance to reel in some of the most impressive peacock bass in the world makes this an experience you don’t want to miss.
